The current situation with our tracks and trails

The limestone trail on the Waipukurau side (Pukeora to the Old swing bridge site) is open to walkers and cyclists. Some care needs to be taken for a short section by Mt Herbert Rd culvert. There is still no river crossing. This is an out and back trail.

The limestone trail on Waipukurau side out to and beyond Ashcott Bridge to Black Creek is open but there is no bridge access across Black Creek so it is an out and back ride to and from Waipukurau.

The limestone trail on the Waipawa side is open to Lindsay bush and the Tunnel - care needs to be taken in the section from the Lindsay Road carpark to the start of the limestone stopbank. The limestone trail east to Tapairu Road is fine up to the large gap in the stopbank, but there is a trail in the berm that bypasses the gap.

All berm mountain biking/walking trails on the Waipukurau side of the river from end Mt Herbert Rd to Ashcott Bridge are rideable. Also berm trails Waipukurau Bridge to Black Creek on the Waipawa side.

The Gum Tree Farm mountain bike park is open and all trails rideable
